Role overview

As the Software Development Manager, you will own the software delivery process end to end — from understanding business needs and shaping the solution, through build, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement. The role requires you to manage engineering teams, keep work aligned with company goals, and deliver secure, scalable, well-integrated systems that support the wider transformation agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the complete software development lifecycle, including requirement discovery, solution design, implementation, testing, release, and post-deployment support.
• Lead, coach, and monitor software engineers by allocating work, tracking progress, and ensuring deadlines and quality expectations are met.
• Set delivery plans and prioritize initiatives according to business value and strategic importance.
• Contribute to software architecture and technical design for solutions connected with enterprise platforms such as ERP, CRM, POS, and e-commerce tools.
• Promote maintainable and scalable designs that follow internal technology standards and digital governance requirements.
• Manage API-based integrations and ensure dependable, secure information exchange between systems.
• Encourage Agile and DevOps practices to improve collaboration and development efficiency.
• Supervise testing and quality assurance to support stable, reliable software releases.
• Handle version control, release processes, and technical documentation throughout delivery.
• Track application performance after go-live, investigate incidents, and drive ongoing improvements.
• Ensure compliance with security controls, data protection expectations, and strong code quality practices.
• Assess technical risks and put mitigation plans in place.
• Work with business and IT stakeholders to convert operational requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, application, and IT teams so development environments are ready for delivery work.
• Review emerging technologies, tools, and platforms that can support innovation and digital growth.
• Build team capability through mentoring, training, and knowledge sharing.
• Prepare periodic updates on project status, delivery milestones, and key performance indicators.
• Monitor team productivity and ensure adherence to approved methodologies and governance standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline.
• Between 7 and 9 years of relevant experience in software development and engineering leadership.
• Strong grasp of SDLC principles and enterprise application architecture.
• Practical experience with .NET, JavaScript, and Python.
• Working knowledge of Agile delivery, DevOps practices, APIs, and systems integration.
• Fluency in both Arabic and English.
• Preferred certifications include PMP or an Agile Project Management credential.
• Preferred Microsoft certification: Azure Developer or an equivalent Full Stack Development certification.
• Advanced training in system architecture design, QA and testing, and application security is an advantage.
