About KPMG
KPMG is a globally recognised professional services firm with a strong reputation for trust and quality. In New Zealand, the firm is focused on helping create prosperity for all New Zealanders, and that mission shapes both client work and internal ways of working, all guided by the values of Integrity, Courage, Excellence, Together, and for Better.
The Role
As a Software Developer, you will design and deliver technology solutions that are scalable, reliable, and built to create smooth user experiences. This is a hands-on role where you will turn ideas into working features, improve product performance, and help strengthen functionality through thoughtful engineering.
You will work with product, design, and engineering colleagues in a fast-moving environment, helping the team ship practical digital products that users depend on. The role suits someone who enjoys solving challenging problems, values high standards, and likes contributing to continuous improvement.
What You Will Do
- Build, develop, and release full-stack features that support product objectives and technical architecture.
- Produce clean, maintainable, and well-commented code, with suitable test coverage and secure development habits.
- Take part in code reviews and help maintain strong quality and security standards.
- Track down and fix performance issues across the application stack to keep systems fast and dependable.
- Support other developers through collaboration, knowledge sharing, pairing, and documentation.
- Work alongside product, design, platform, and QA teams to deliver strong digital experiences.
- Explain technical ideas clearly and contribute to planning and decision-making discussions.
What We Are Looking For
- At least 3 years of software development experience, including strong full-stack capability and practical Azure development experience.
- Confidence working across front-end, back-end, APIs, integrations, databases, authentication, and cloud services.
- Experience building modern web applications with secure coding practices.
- Interest in discovery and solution design early in the process, not only in implementing fully defined work.
- Ability to adapt when priorities, details, and designs change during delivery.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach with product, business, testing, and technical teams.
- Experience in professional services, financial services, or similarly complex environments is an advantage.
Working Environment and Additional Information
This role is being recruited directly by KPMG's Talent Acquisition team. Recruitment agencies are asked not to contact the business unless support is required from preferred agency partners.
KPMG encourages applications from people with diverse backgrounds, including those with disabilities, mental health needs, chronic health conditions, and neurodivergent candidates. If you have accessibility needs or require support during the hiring process, the team can provide assistance.
