About the Role
Binance is a major global blockchain ecosystem and the operator of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume and registered users. Used by more than 300 million people across 100+ countries, the company is known for security, transparency of user funds, fast trading infrastructure, deep liquidity, and a broad suite of digital asset products. Its platform spans trading, finance, education, research, payments, institutional offerings, Web3 capabilities, and more, all aimed at expanding access to financial services and supporting the freedom of money.
The team is hiring a Senior Java Engineer for Web3 Data to help create the next generation of on-chain data processing and computation systems. In this role, you will shape backend architecture for highly scalable, dependable, and high-throughput services that parse, transform, and analyze blockchain data from multiple networks in real time.
The position calls for deep experience in Java microservices, distributed architectures, and data-heavy computation, along with a practical understanding of Web3 ecosystems and on-chain analytics. You will partner with blockchain researchers, data engineers, and backend engineers to deliver low-latency APIs and large-scale analytical insights for DeFi and on-chain data products.
Responsibilities
- Build and refine high-performance pipelines for parsing, calculating, and aggregating on-chain data across multiple blockchain ecosystems such as EVM chains and Solana.
- Design and improve Java-based distributed microservices for both real-time and batch processing workloads.
- Create computation layers capable of very fast statistical outputs, including token pricing, swaps, liquidity indicators, and protocol-level KPIs.
- Work with data engineering teams to connect pipelines with Kafka, Redis, RDS, and data lake systems.
- Develop scalable data structures and models for multi-chain and historical datasets.
- Deliver backend services that are resilient, monitored, and able to recover automatically with no downtime.
- Set up strong observability and performance tracking for parsing and computation components.
- Take part in architecture-level planning and help ensure the platform supports long-term data strategy.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of backend engineering experience using Java, with hands-on Spring Boot and Spring Cloud exposure.
- Good understanding of blockchain basics, including transactions, events, state transitions, and RPC communication with nodes.
- Strong background in distributed systems, streaming data, and real-time computation approaches.
- Practical knowledge of common middleware and storage tools such as Kafka, Redis, MySQL, MongoDB, xxl-job, and high-throughput caching patterns.
- Deep experience tuning microservices for performance and low latency, including threading, asynchronous processing, and batching.
- Strong written and verbal communication, documentation, and cross-team collaboration skills.
- Reactor experience is considered an advantage.
Why Join
- Contribute to the future of a leading blockchain ecosystem.
- Work with top-tier talent in a global, user-focused organization with a flat structure.
- Handle challenging, fast-moving projects with a high level of ownership in an innovative environment.
- Grow in a results-oriented setting with ongoing learning and career development opportunities.
- Receive a competitive salary and company benefits.
- Work-from-home arrangement may be available depending on the team’s business needs.
