Role overview
Amazon Web Services is hiring a Learning Experience Designer to create effective training experiences for its global data center workforce. This position focuses on building learning solutions that support employees from their first-day onboarding all the way through ongoing development and career growth. It is a full-time, five-day office-based role in Dublin.
What you will do
- Work with subject matter experts, program managers, and business partners to understand learning needs and turn them into measurable training solutions.
- Build learning content across multiple formats, such as web-based modules, instructor-led sessions, job aids, short how-to videos, and practical assessments.
- Use Agile and ADDIE approaches to guide the end-to-end content development process, including analysis, design, development, launch, and evaluation.
- Convert technical data center topics into simple, clear, and accessible learning materials for a worldwide audience.
- Partner with the Full Time Training team and the Learning Advocate community, including SMEs and checklist validators, to maintain accuracy and quality.
- Review learner feedback and performance data to improve existing learning assets and identify missing content.
- Coach subject matter experts on the self-service content development workflow and support them through the LXD process.
- Handle several projects at once, keep stakeholders updated, track progress, and deliver work on schedule and within scope.
- Use AI-enabled design tools and workflows to speed up production, improve personalization, and strengthen the learner experience.
- Create engaging visual materials, including graphics, illustrations, and multimedia, that support learning goals.
Day-to-day environment
The workday begins with checking overnight emails, chat messages, and tickets, then prioritizing tasks and planning focus blocks. Time is split between sprint work, such as designing visuals, editing video, drafting interactions, and reviewing existing training using feedback and metrics, along with meetings, documentation, and ticket follow-up. There is also room for stretch projects involving new ideas or team improvements.
