About TrialView
TrialView is a legal technology company creating AI-enabled products for litigation work, case preparation, and evidence review. Its users include barristers, solicitors, and litigators who depend on the platform during active matters and court proceedings. In this environment, a wrongly labelled file, a broken bundle link, or an inaccurate AI response is not a minor issue — it can create real professional risk for clients.
Role overview
TrialView is expanding quickly and releasing AI-assisted features at a high pace, including generative AI outputs that are naturally probabilistic. The company is looking for a lead quality professional who can strengthen testing and release control faster than the codebase grows. This is a hands-on leadership position where you will improve the existing quality system, tighten the parts that are too broad, and help ensure defects do not reach a courtroom. You will both build the testing systems and help develop the team that maintains them.
What you will own
- Release readiness and go/no-go judgment, including defining the standards that allow production deploys and stepping in when a release should be delayed.
- Frontend regression protection within the first 90 days, including making end-to-end tests a real release gate, expanding coverage for interaction-level issues, owning visual regression, and choosing the long-term E2E toolset.
- Correctness of generated artifacts, such as automatically checking exported court bundles so links work, pagination is accurate, and bookmarks remain intact.
- Turning strong exploratory testing into repeatable automation by working closely with the in-court evidence presenter and converting discovered issues into lasting test coverage.
- Leadership of the quality function, starting with a junior QA engineer already in place and hiring additional engineers as the team grows.
How the team works
The engineering culture is built around continuous delivery: small changes, daily production releases, no release trains, and no long manual regression cycles. Strong test infrastructure is what makes this pace sustainable, and owning that infrastructure is a core part of the role.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in QA or quality engineering, with both exploratory manual testing and strong automation experience.
- Deep frontend quality expertise, including end-to-end testing with tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or similar, along with visual regression and real-browser verification in CI/CD.
- Experience creating quality gates and release processes for teams that ship continuously.
- Regular use of AI tools in your own QA workflow, with the ability to explain how they have changed your practice over the last year.
- Strong debugging ability across the stack, excellent written communication, and the self-direction needed to succeed in a remote, high-accountability setting.
Nice to have
Experience with distributed or asynchronous systems, document or PDF pipeline testing, AI or LLM feature evaluation, legal technology or regulated-industry products, high-stakes SaaS environments, and building or growing a QA team would be an advantage.
Perks and benefits
- Meaningful ownership of quality, including direct responsibility for release decisions in a role that helps shape engineering culture.
- Fully remote working with a high degree of autonomy.
- Direct access to the CTO and senior engineering leaders.
- A technology stack that includes React, TypeScript, C#/.NET, and Python AI pipelines running on Azure.
- Compensation of €80,000 to €105,000, adjusted for location and experience.
Application process
Applicants are asked to send a CV by email along with a brief note responding to one of two prompts: the most difficult non-deterministic or AI-driven system they have tested and how they handled it, or how AI tooling has changed their QA practice over the last year. The hiring process consists of a focused take-home task followed by a practical session rather than a trivia-style interview.
Equal opportunity
TrialView is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes candidates from all backgrounds. Hiring decisions are made based on merit.
