Engineering Supervisor

About the role

This position sits within Engineering & Facilities at a Marriott Executive Apartments property in Doha, Qatar. It is a full-time, on-site role focused on keeping equipment, systems, and facilities operating safely and efficiently while supporting both guests and the broader team.

What you will do

• Carry out installation, upkeep, preventive servicing, and replacement recommendations for tools, appliances, and equipment.
• Adjust and verify controls, gauges, meters, and related devices.
• Find, identify, and operate shut-off valves as required.
• Order, label, and maintain stock of parts and supplies.
• Track inventory and purchase order records.
• Check tools, equipment, and machines for condition and functionality.
• Use computer systems to record and retrieve work-related details.
• Operate powered lift equipment.
• Complete life-safety inspections, including fire-pump and generator run tests.
• Inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems.
• Help create disaster response procedures.
• Respond to guest repair requests promptly.
• Support management with hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating team members.
• Observe company, safety, and security procedures and report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries.
• Complete required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance and protect confidential information.
• Greet and assist guests according to brand standards, including supporting guests with disabilities and anticipating service needs.
• Build positive working relationships and contribute to team goals.
• Maintain quality standards and help improve efficiency, productivity, safety, quality, and cost control.
• Use clear, professional communication and carry out other tasks assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

• Technical, trade, or vocational school education is preferred.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience are required.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience are required.
• No license or certification is specified.
• Must be able to work in a physically active role involving bending, reaching, standing, walking, stair use, and handling items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
