Safety Engineer

Job summary

This role is responsible for keeping safety-related stock accurate and available across all branches in the region, while also ensuring that inspection, testing, and maintenance plans are followed properly at each location.

Key duties

• Lead and apply health and safety procedures throughout the hospital premises.
• Carry out scheduled safety audits, risk reviews, and hazard checks.
• Monitor adherence to local healthcare rules and established safety standards.
• Deliver safety awareness sessions and emergency response drills for hospital personnel.
• Look into incidents and put corrective measures in place to prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a comparable qualification is required.
• Prior experience working as a Safety Officer or Safety Engineer is preferred, especially in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• A recognized occupational health and safety credential such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or an equivalent certification is desirable.
• A valid professional registration or license is needed if relevant to the role.
• Applicants should have a solid understanding of safety legislation and crisis response practices.
• Strong communication, leadership, and analytical problem-solving abilities are important.
