Quality Engineer

As a Quality Engineer, you will help uphold project quality standards, strengthen quality culture, and support continuous improvement across projects, suppliers, and internal teams. The position is based in Bengaluru, and travel within India as well as internationally may be required.

What you will do

• Track and manage project quality KPIs in line with customer requirements.
• Ensure project quality controls are implemented according to PM@Siemens standards.
• Build an open and transparent quality culture with the project team and QMIP.
• Identify quality risks early and help control them throughout the project lifecycle using the quality management system.
• Carry out final inspections, FAI, and FAT checks for completed products, cabinets, and installations against customer and internal standards.
• Take part in project reviews and support milestone completion in the tool.
• Follow up on customer complaint closure and assist the team with quality improvement actions.
• Support root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective measures for failures.
• Review quality data and trends to drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Work closely with production, project, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
• Visit supplier sites to monitor manufacturing quality.
• Record non-conformities and initiate corrective and improvement actions.
• Escalate quality concerns to management for timely resolution.
• Support incoming material inspection and vendor FAI activities.
• Participate in internal audits and assist with external audits such as ISO 9001 and customer audits.
• Maintain inspection plans, checklists, work instructions, and quality documentation.
• Collect lessons learned from all functions and apply them to improve the system.
• Train production staff on quality standards, inspection methods, and defect detection.

What we are looking for

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in Electronics, Industrial, or a related discipline.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in project quality, ideally in electronics, PCBA manufacturing, or interlocking projects.
• Solid knowledge of IPC standards such as IPC-A-610, along with understanding of project lifecycle and customer service expectations.
• Exposure to ISO 9001, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma practices.
• Ability to analyze data, perform root cause analysis, and prepare quality reports.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
