About Egis

Egis is an international company delivering architectural, consulting, engineering, operations, and maintenance services. Its work focuses on creating intelligent infrastructure and buildings that support climate action while promoting sustainable and resilient development.

With a workforce of about 20,500 people in more than 100 countries, the company applies its expertise to complex infrastructure and built-environment challenges. Its portfolio includes motorways, tramways, water and wastewater treatment, and smart city solutions, with an emphasis on climate-conscious growth that benefits communities, industry, and the planet.

About Egis in Ireland

Egis has been active in Ireland since 1959 and is among the country’s largest multi-disciplinary consultancy, engineering, and operations businesses. Its Irish operations cover the full infrastructure lifecycle, from early feasibility work through design, construction oversight, delivery, and ongoing operations.

The company works across the consulting, design, and operations value chain and is involved in running the Dublin Tunnel and Jack Lynch Tunnel in Cork, managing 1,200 km of motorways in Ireland, and supporting major transport and mobility projects. In Ireland, the business employs more than 600 people across 16 offices nationwide.

In 2023, Egis acquired JB Barry & Partners, an engineering firm with experience on major schemes including the Ringsend Wastewater Treatment Plant in Dublin and the N17/N18 Gort to Tuam PPP motorway scheme in Galway. The engineering arm now has close to 200 employees across offices in Dublin, Castlebar, Cork, and Limerick.
