Role Summary

We are looking for a full-time, on-site Process Engineer based in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main Metropolitan Area. In this position, you will design, refine, and scale bioprocesses used to produce and apply effective microorganisms in agricultural contexts. Your work will involve creating process flow diagrams, defining and tracking operating parameters, running trials, studying performance data, and introducing improvements that boost efficiency, reliability, and sustainability. You will work closely with R&D, operations, and field teams to move laboratory findings into durable industrial processes and to help transfer technology to production locations. The role also includes preparing process documentation, maintaining standard operating procedures, supporting safety assessments, and contributing to regulatory compliance for chemical and biological operations.

Responsibilities

• Build and refine bioprocesses for the production and application of effective microorganisms.
• Develop process flow diagrams, equipment-related inputs, and practical scale-up approaches.
• Define, monitor, and adjust process settings to maintain stable operations.
• Run process trials, assess outcomes, and use data to improve performance.
• Investigate deviations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Work with R&D, operations, and field teams to convert lab results into production-ready processes.
• Support technology transfer to manufacturing or production sites.
• Prepare and update process documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Participate in safety reviews and help ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Contribute to ongoing efficiency, consistency, and sustainability improvements.

Requirements

• Solid grounding in process engineering and chemical engineering for industrial or biotechnology applications.
• Hands-on experience with process design, including flow diagrams, equipment planning, and scale-up.
• Ability to manage process control, operating windows, and troubleshooting of process issues.
• Strong analytical capability to interpret experimental and production data and drive improvements.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Exposure to bioprocessing, fermentation, or effective microorganism production is an advantage.
• Comfort working safely in laboratory and plant environments, with understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Good communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
• Background in agriculture, environmental work, or sustainability-oriented industries is a plus.
