Junior Software Developer

Role overview

Helic & Co. is looking for an energetic Junior Software Developer to join its engineering team in Canada. This is a strong fit for an early-career candidate who wants to build practical experience, contribute to real product work, and develop skills with support from experienced teammates.

What you will work on

• Create and improve product features by writing clear, maintainable code with support from senior developers.
• Investigate defects, identify root causes, and resolve issues raised by users or quality assurance teams.
• Take part in peer reviews to strengthen code quality and learn established development practices.
• Join the team’s agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, and retrospectives.
• Build unit and integration tests that help keep applications reliable and performant.

What we are looking for

• A good base in at least one common programming language such as JavaScript, Python, Java, or C#.
• Working knowledge of web fundamentals, including HTML and CSS, along with basic understanding of SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Some hands-on use of Git and GitHub for source control.
• A willingness to learn, strong communication abilities, and a team-oriented approach.

This is a full-time onsite opportunity in Canada. The role is designed for someone at the beginning of their software development career and emphasizes learning, collaboration, and mentorship.
