Inventory Planner

Role overview

This is a contract assignment based in Sunnyvale, California, not a direct full-time job with Amazon. The selected professional will work through an approved third-party direct source provider for the length of the project and will not become an Amazon employee.

The position calls for strong control over data and processes, along with the ability to think across the business and support collaboration between teams and projects.

Key responsibilities

• Keep data accurate so systems and workflows continue to operate correctly.
• Oversee inbound shipment activity, including purchase order tracking, maintenance, fill-rate monitoring, resolution of operational issues, and communication with vendors.
• Review inventory levels and SKU performance to identify supply needs.
• Carry out work across purchase order, in-stock, and vendor-related systems and reports.

Qualifications

• About 1 year of relevant experience, ideally as an Associate Planner or Associate Buyer.
• Strong organization skills and a self-driven work style.
• Comfort using business tools such as Excel.
• Adaptable, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Team-oriented and able to manage several priorities at once while working to tight deadlines.

Team and workflow context

As part of the Device Services and Tracking Team (DSTT), the role involves receiving, allocating, and distributing pre-production devices in a busy environment serving hundreds of internal users.

The work requires careful organization, strong data handling, stakeholder coordination, and effective use of internal asset-tracking tools.

Training will be provided on the job by peers, with support from DSTT leads and the manager.

Compensation and benefits

The pay range expected for this assignment is USD 21 to USD 27 per hour. Benefits available through the staffing provider may include optional medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement benefits, and a New Child Benefit.
