Sol is building an AI-native HR platform for a fast-changing world of work. Instead of layering new technology onto a legacy HRIS, the company is creating a fresh foundation designed around automation, flexibility, and scale. The goal is to give HR leaders a clearer picture of their workforce through a system that is built to adapt rather than be worked around.

The company was started by experienced leaders who helped shape the modern HR software category and is funded by Sutter Hill Ventures and NEA. Its first customers are expected to go live in early 2027, and the team is looking for someone who can help make those customers highly successful.

Role Overview

This role owns the product experience end to end, spanning backend systems, APIs, and the customer-facing interface. Because the product is still early, the scope is broad and the work frequently covers the full path from data modeling through user experience. You will work closely with the founding team and domain architects to ship core product capabilities.

What You’ll Work On

• Developing full-stack product features across Kotlin/JVM services, APIs, and the frontend experiences built on top of them
• Creating flexible, data-driven interfaces that change based on each customer instead of relying on fixed layouts
• Designing conversational and agent-assisted product experiences in addition to standard enterprise UI patterns
• Helping define the reusable component and API conventions that will support future scaling
• Using AI-assisted development as a regular part of the build process to move quickly and efficiently

What We’re Looking For

• Strong backend engineering experience with Kotlin or Java, including production-ready services, APIs, and data models designed for reuse and composition
• Solid understanding of the JVM, concurrency, and data-access behavior, along with an instinct for performance tradeoffs
• Comfort working across the stack, including practical TypeScript knowledge and a willingness to implement frontend work directly
• Interest in building across the full product surface, from data layer to UI, in an environment where requirements may still be evolving
• Daily use of AI coding tools and genuine fluency with them as part of normal engineering work
• A scrappy, curious mindset and enthusiasm for ownership in an early-stage team
