Associate Data Analyst

Role overview

AF - Group is hiring an Associate Data Analyst to contribute to business and technical efforts by carrying out foundational data analysis, gathering requirements, and preparing clear documentation. This position is designed for someone who can work under supervision, apply analytical thinking, and use data tools to produce useful insights while supporting Agile team activities and ongoing process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Collect requirements and prepare documentation with the help of senior team members and established templates.
• Carry out basic data analysis and profiling to evaluate data quality and identify useful patterns.
• Use SQL to retrieve information from primary and secondary data sources.
• Review data and interpret results under guidance to support larger business and technical initiatives.
• Assist with Agile ceremonies when needed.
• Work with teammates to help preserve data accuracy and usability.
• Keep analysis and reporting documents accurate, complete, and well organized.

Education and experience

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in a relevant area such as data technology, information systems, or computer science is preferred. A suitable mix of education and experience may also be accepted instead of a degree. Candidates should have a basic grasp of data analysis methods, working knowledge of SQL, and familiarity with DBMS platforms in both on-premises and cloud environments. Experience using data in an insurance setting is preferred.

Working conditions

Compensation

The estimated pay range for this role is between $56,700 and $114,850 per year. Final compensation will depend on internal equity, the candidate’s skills and experience, geographic location, market conditions, and other relevant factors. Offers are not typically made at or near the top of the range.
