Role Overview

This is a part-time remote opportunity for a web scraping specialist supporting a client’s business intelligence and market research work. The position focuses on collecting public web data and organizing it into a usable format.

Key Responsibilities

Gather structured information from selected websites and online sources using a mix of automated tools and manual techniques.
Review, clean, and arrange extracted data so it is accurate and ready for analysis.
Keep scraping scripts and tools up to date when site layouts or data formats change.
Record the scraping approach, data sources, and any issues encountered for future reference.
Work with stakeholders to clarify data needs and improve the efficiency of the scraping process.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Working knowledge of Python, JavaScript, or a similar scripting language used for building and maintaining scrapers.
Hands-on experience with scraping tools such as BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, or Puppeteer.
Comfort with HTML, CSS selectors, and browser developer tools for locating and extracting data.
Ability to clean and transform data using tools such as Pandas or OpenRefine.
Strong focus on accuracy and consistency in data handling.
Self-motivated approach suitable for remote, independent work.
