Supervisor - Workshop

Role Overview

This position oversees workshop operations in an automotive service environment, with responsibility for coordinating service and repair work, supporting customer satisfaction, and ensuring strong productivity and revenue outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Take in job cards for repair and maintenance work from the service advisory team.
• Oversee vehicle intake and workshop loading to keep operations moving efficiently.
• Explain extra repair needs clearly, justify the technical reasons, and share cost estimates to secure customer approval.
• Work proactively to resolve complaints and support a positive ownership experience for every customer.
• Raise material requests for approved additional parts, track ordered items, and keep service advisors updated.
• Make sure sufficient vehicles are received so service orders are opened and monthly revenue goals are met.
• Promote and sell value-added offerings such as tyres, accessories, and similar products.
• Drive monthly productive efficiency targets and help maximize overall workshop output.
• Monitor work-in-progress regularly and ensure invoices are raised on time.
• Ensure vehicles are turned around within the required readiness time.
• Work toward achieving the first-time fix target.
• Support skill development among technicians so they can handle multiple job types.
• Keep direct reports informed about their performance on a daily and weekly basis.
• Coach technicians to improve performance and meet KPI expectations.
• Ensure workshop procedures and standards are consistently followed.

Qualifications

Candidates should hold a Diploma or Degree in Automobile Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. The role requires 3 to 7 years of experience as a Workshop Supervisor in the automobile sector, preferably within a dealer environment.
