Role Summary

This is a full-time, on-site Pump Operator position in Doha. The selected candidate will handle the operation, observation, and control of pumps and associated equipment in line with approved procedures and safety requirements.

Core duties include starting and stopping equipment, managing flow and pressure settings, checking instruments such as gauges and meters, and promptly informing supervisors about any faults or unusual readings. The role also covers basic upkeep, equipment cleaning, and support for minor repairs while working under maintenance guidance. The operator will maintain daily records, comply with site safety rules, assist with safe loading and unloading activities, and work with the broader team to keep site operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

Candidates should have practical experience working with industrial, construction, or mechanical pumps, or similar equipment, in a field or plant setting. A basic understanding of mechanical systems is important, including checking oil levels, inspecting hoses and fittings, and helping with simple maintenance tasks.

A strong safety mindset is essential, along with consistent use of PPE and compliance with lockout/tagout practices where applicable and with site-specific procedures. Applicants should be able to interpret basic operating instructions, safety notices, and straightforward technical information related to pump operation.

The job requires good physical endurance, including the ability to remain on one’s feet for long periods, lift moderate loads, and perform effectively in outdoor or industrial conditions. Clear communication is needed to report problems, follow directions from supervisors, and coordinate with other team members.

Reliability and punctuality are important, as the role may involve full-time shifts with overtime, weekend, or evening work depending on project needs. Experience in construction, infrastructure, utilities, oil and gas, or similar sectors in Doha or the wider region will be considered an advantage. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and vocational training or certifications in equipment operation or safety would be beneficial. The employer also values a willingness to follow company policies, take part in training, and keep developing technical skills.
