Finance Manager

About the Role

We seek an experienced Finance Manager to play a pivotal leadership role in preserving the financial health of our hotel operations in Doha. Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Finance, this role leads the Cost Control and Income Audit functions, ensuring safeguarding of assets, enhancing profitability, and guaranteeing accurate revenue tracking across various outlets.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance to the Cost Control and Income Audit teams by setting clear KPIs and managing daily operational flows.
• Ensure adherence to the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI), local taxation requirements, and internal financial policies.
• Act as the main connection point between Finance and department heads including F&B, Procurement, Executive Chef, and Front Office to maintain financial compliance.
• Oversee comprehensive daily to monthly cost analysis of Food, Beverage, Operating Supplies, and Equipment (OS&E).
• Manage stock handling processes including receiving, storage standard procedures, and inventory assessments.
• Collaborate with Executive Chef and F&B Director on recipe costing, menu optimization, and margin improvement initiatives.
• Investigate discrepancies in actual versus standard costs to tackle leakages such as spoilage, theft, or wastage.
• Conduct reviews of purchasing contracts and market pricing to secure budget-friendly procurement.
• Supervise the daily revenue audit to verify all guest invoices, ledger entries, and ancillary revenue accuracy.
• Reconcile revenue reports against Property Management Systems and F&B POS data, such as Opera and Micros/Simphony.
• Inspect rate deviations, complimentary stays, account suspensions, void transactions, and discount approvals for proper authorization.
• Validate settlement of cash, credit card, and city ledger payments and resolve discrepancies with Accounts Receivable promptly.
• Oversee unannounced cash counts for cashiers and front-of-house cashier funds.
• Prepare month-end reports including cost of sales reconciliation, inventory valuations, and revenue summaries for senior management review.
• Support the Assistant Director of Finance in variance analyses, financial forecasting, and budget formulation.
• Lead monthly meetings with department heads to discuss financial performance, cost drivers, and revenue leakages.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality Management or related discipline is required; professional credentials such as CPA, CMA, or CHTP are advantageous.
• Demonstrated 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience in finance or accounting within sizeable hotel environments, focusing on Cost Control or Income Audit.
• Proficient with hospitality-focused ERPs, PMS platforms like Opera, F&B POS systems including Micros/Simphony, inventory management tools such as Materials Control and FMC, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong expertise in USALI compliance, yield management, food and beverage cost structures, and revenue assurance practices.
• Outstanding analytical abilities combined with leadership skills to nurture teams and uphold rigorous ethical standards, alongside excellent interpersonal communication across departments.
