Embedded Systems Engineer - AI Trainer

About the Role

We are seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer - AI Trainer to contribute to the advancement of AI systems. You will join DataAnnotation’s coding community, which includes more than 100,000 professionals across front-end, back-end, full-stack, machine learning, and related engineering disciplines who support practical AI development.

This role combines flexibility with technically challenging work. You will collaborate with modern AI models on programming assignments such as creating and solving complex coding problems, developing polished applications with strong functionality, and turning data into meaningful insights through analysis and visualization. Your output will help improve intelligent systems as they learn and adapt over time. Some contributors fit this work around another full-time job, while others use it as their main focus and select projects and schedules that suit their availability.

How the Process Works

After creating an account, you will complete a brief assessment that acts as the selection step for the role. If successful, you will receive confirmation by email, and paid work will then become available through the platform.

Responsibilities

• Create and solve a variety of coding tasks that help train AI systems, with particular attention to Android development.
• Produce well-structured code examples along with clear, thorough explanations.
• Review AI-generated code for correctness, efficiency, and readability.
• Share feedback that helps improve future AI model performance.

Contract Terms and Working Style

This is an independent contractor engagement. You can choose the projects you take on and decide when you work. The role is designed to be completed on your own computer and from home. Payment is hourly, beginning at $50 to $100+ per hour, with some projects offering higher compensation.

Payment Details

Compensation is processed through PayPal. Currency conversion from USD, if needed, will be handled by PayPal. You will never be asked to pay any money to participate.

Eligibility

• Applicants must be located in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand.
• Candidates outside these countries will not currently have access to assessments or work opportunities on the platform.
• Strong English fluency at a native or bilingual level is required.
• A bachelor’s degree, whether completed or still in progress, is expected.
• Prior experience as a software developer, coder, software engineer, or programmer is preferred.
• The role is suitable for individuals who can combine strong technical ability with excellent written communication.

Skills and Background

Preferred experience includes Kotlin, and you should also be proficient in at least one of these languages or frameworks: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, C, C#, C++, React, Go, Java, or Swift. Strong grammar and writing skills are also important.
