Data Analyst (Entry / Junior)

Role overview

Shine For Hope Developers is seeking an early-career Data Analyst to assist with gathering, preparing, and reviewing program and learner information so the team can make better decisions and strengthen its services. This position is part-time and based in Sydney, New South Wales, with a combination of on-site attendance and the flexibility to work from home.

What you will do

You will handle routine data tasks such as maintaining datasets, performing basic statistical analysis, building reports and dashboards, and turning key metrics into easy-to-understand visuals for both internal and external audiences. The role also supports monitoring and evaluation work, data quality assurance, and the preparation of concise summaries for program teams, leadership, and partners. You will work closely with colleagues to convert findings into practical recommendations that support better learning outcomes and stronger organizational impact.

Qualifications

• Good analytical ability and a solid grounding in data analysis concepts for working with program and learner data.
• Working knowledge of statistics and the confidence to apply basic statistical methods to real datasets.
• Capability to assist with simple data modelling tasks, including arranging and structuring information for reporting and analysis.
• Clear written and spoken communication skills for sharing insights with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comfort using spreadsheets and data platforms such as Excel, Google Sheets, or entry-level BI tools; exposure to Python or R is a plus.
• Study or practical experience in data analytics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, economics, or a similar discipline.
• Strong accuracy, the ability to juggle several tasks, and an interest in learning within a nonprofit, community-focused environment.
