Role overview

This is an interview-based opening for a courier role with a focus on reliable package pickup and delivery along a designated route. The position also involves checking shipments to ensure they meet FedEx Canada service standards and handling associated customer support tasks.

Key duties

• Collect and deliver parcels courteously and efficiently on an assigned route.
• Verify shipments against Federal Express Canada service requirements before handling them.
• Support customers with related service needs as part of daily route work.

Qualifications and capabilities

• A high school diploma or an equivalent educational qualification is required.
• A valid driver’s licence with a clean driving history is mandatory.
• The role requires the ability to lift up to 70 lbs and move packages as heavy as 150 lbs using suitable equipment.
• At least 1 year of customer-facing business experience is preferred.
• Candidates must clear the required pre-placement driver assessment training with the minimum passing standard.
• Working knowledge of FedEx Canada operations and Canadian customs rules is considered an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities are important.
• Excellent planning, organisation, and time management skills are needed.
• The job calls for a high level of customer service focus, along with the ability to manage several tasks at once.
• Applicants should be comfortable working under pressure and in demanding situations.
• Flexibility to work different schedules and holidays depending on business requirements is necessary.

Additional employment details

This role requires completion of all mandatory testing, recurring training, and annual accreditations where applicable. The successful candidate must be able to work in a PC Windows environment and take on other duties as assigned. If the employee lives in Quebec, bilingual ability in French and English is required. For roles where driving is a core function, candidates must hold a valid driver’s licence such as Class 5, G, or 1[A/Z] and have no more than two violations and/or accidents in the 24 months before applying. Selection will also consider the driver abstract, interview performance, and any driver competency assessments.
