Role overview
In this role, you will support production applications to keep them stable, available and reliable. You will investigate and fix issues, carry out routine maintenance, and work closely with development teams to improve application performance and resilience.
Key responsibilities
- Track the condition and availability of production systems and applications.
- Investigate incidents and application faults, then work toward timely resolution.
- Carry out scheduled maintenance activities such as updates and patching.
- Partner with development teams to improve application efficiency and stability.
- Record incident details, fixes and improvement actions for future reference.
- Take part in shift-based support, including after-hours coverage.
- Join on-call duty rotations for support outside regular working hours.
- Perform detailed analysis and troubleshooting for every request or incident.
Required profile
Strong background in banking and financial services is required. You should understand acquiring and issuing business models, along with payment ecosystems and card management systems, including transaction processing, tokenization and compliance requirements.
On the technical side, the role calls for solid SQL skills for data analysis and troubleshooting, plus hands-on exposure to Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL. You should be comfortable with performance tuning, query optimization and checks for data integrity.
Experience or working knowledge of Java, .NET, Python and PowerShell is needed for automation and debugging. Familiarity with Oracle GoldenGate, QlikView/QlikSense, Talend, and shell scripting is also expected. TIBCO middleware knowledge would be an advantage.
You must be comfortable working in Windows, Linux and Solaris environments. Understanding deployment workflows, patching, version control and disaster recovery planning is important. Practical experience with Jira, Git and Bitbucket is required for issue tracking and source control.
You should also be able to read logs and performance metrics, perform root cause analysis, handle capacity planning, and support incident management in line with ITIL practices and SLA commitments.
