HSE Coordinator

About the role

H&P is looking for an HSE Coordinator to help maintain a strong health, safety, and environmental culture in Saudi Arabia. This position supports compliance, safe operations, training coordination, incident follow-up, audits, and day-to-day HSE activities across field and camp settings.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with Saudi Arabian health, safety, and environmental laws, requirements, and company obligations.
• Review, verify, and audit the correct use of core HSE systems and practices, including C.O.A.C.H., Lifebelts, written safe work procedures, and POMS.
• Support teams during non-routine tasks and major maintenance work by helping with pre-job planning and safety briefings before operations begin.
• Lead onboarding, pre-tour, pre-job, and weekly safety meetings, and act as a safety observer during hazardous activities while reinforcing Actively C.A.R.E. programs.
• Support injury management and coordinate with occupational and emergency medical providers for work-related injuries or illnesses, including escorting employees to the first appointment and follow-up treatment.
• Keep all occupational and emergency medical records in line with company policy and Saudi legal requirements.
• Prepare and support HSE documentation and reporting, including inspections, audits, negative events, good catches, and rewards and recognition reports.
• Promote and monitor the use of pre-job planning tools such as Compass Cards, eJSA, Flex Checks, and Video JSA, including handling e-JSA change requests.
• Take part in C.O.A.C.H. conversations using the CAR and CAR/AR approach.
• Coach and mentor H&P employees, with extra support for new-to-position staff and short-service employees.
• Coordinate third-party training requirements to keep the training matrix current and compliant with Aramco expectations.
• Act as a point of contact with Aramco Compliance, Aramco HSE, and Aramco occupational health teams during audits and inspections.
• Use sound judgment to investigate accidents and injuries, submit findings to the Operations Manager, support serious incident investigations, and participate in root-cause investigations.
• Monitor and encourage completion of assigned Workday training courses.
• Facilitate weekly RSMT meetings at the main camp.
• Oversee third-party subcontractors such as H2S equipment providers, rig movers, and catering services.
• Conduct audits related to rig moves, LOTO, and similar controlled activities.
• Work with Rig Managers to assign mentors to short-service employees.
• Manage third-party equipment inspections, emissions testing, and similar compliance activities.
• Prepare and submit monthly reports as required.

Requirements

• Strong working knowledge of Saudi health, safety, and environmental legislation and compliance expectations.
• Experience with HSE systems, audits, incident reporting, and safety meeting facilitation.
• Ability to support investigations, coordinate medical follow-up, and maintain confidential documentation accurately.
• Comfort working with subcontractors, third-party training, and regulatory stakeholders such as Aramco teams.
• Good judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to coach others in safe work practices.
• Familiarity with pre-job planning tools and operational safety processes in field environments.
