Role overview
Largeton Group is seeking a Database Developer with strong SQL expertise to support healthcare-focused data systems. The role centers on building, improving, and maintaining database solutions, ETL workflows, reporting outputs, and data exchange processes for large-scale datasets.
Key responsibilities
- Create and tune Microsoft T-SQL stored procedures and complex queries to improve performance.
- Build ETL pipelines that move, transform, and integrate data accurately.
- Use SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to automate data transfer and workflow tasks.
- Develop reports and make sure business users receive precise, reliable data.
- Support data warehousing platforms and work across relational database environments.
- Process healthcare data exchange messages, including HL7 v2.3.1 through v2.5.1 and ORU formats.
- Handle XML-based data exchange and integration requirements.
- Work with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and later for development and administration tasks.
- Apply security, privacy, and data-classification controls for CDC, HIPAA, CJIS, PHI, and PII compliance.
- Work with very large datasets, including environments of 1 TB or more.
- Collect business and technical requirements and turn them into clear documentation and specifications.
- Support public health or disease surveillance systems where needed.
- Use SAS for statistical analysis and data processing.
- Where applicable, work with LOINC and SNOMED terminology standards.
- Process genomic files such as FASTQ and perform demultiplexing tasks.
- Use R or R Studio for statistical computing and analysis.
- Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to support healthcare data initiatives.
Technical focus
The position combines database engineering, healthcare data interoperability, and analytics support. Experience with relational databases, data warehousing, HL7 messaging, XML, SAS, and R will be valuable in delivering accurate and compliant data solutions.
