Bakery Associate

Position summary

As a Bakery Associate, you will help keep the bakery department running smoothly while delivering friendly, helpful service to customers. This role is centered on product presentation, store readiness, stocking, and maintaining Walmart’s standards for service and safety.

Key duties

• Maintain the quality and presentation of bakery items such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Keep the department replenished and prepared for customers throughout the day.
• Make sure products are correctly labeled, signed, and priced.
• Follow cold-chain requirements, including thermometer checks, temperature logs, proper handling, rotation, sell-by tracking, and expiration date control.
• Carry out sanitation and cleaning routines in line with food safety expectations.
• Handle ordering-related tasks and follow procedures for clearance, markdowns, markups, and signage/label placement.
• Prepare bakery products by following thawing and baking instructions carefully so items meet quality and appearance standards.
• Ensure product displays are arranged and secured safely.

Pay

The starting hourly wage for this role is $15.80.

Minimum qualifications

Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
