Overview

Newfoundland Chocolate Company is hiring a Baker to join its team in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. This is a full-time position based at the physical workplace; remote work is not available.

Language

English proficiency is required for this role.

Education

Applicants should have an other trades certificate or diploma, or possess equivalent hands-on experience.

Experience

Prior experience is considered an asset, but it is not mandatory.

Key duties

• Mix and prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, sweet baked items, as well as batters for muffins, cookies, cakes, and frosting or icing as directed by recipes or custom requests.
• Request, order, or replenish ingredients, tools, equipment, and other supplies as needed.
• Bake dough and batter items to production standards.
• Handle special customer orders from preparation through completion.
• Apply icing and decorative finishes to cakes and assorted baked products.
• Check finished items to confirm they meet the company’s quality expectations.
• Keep inventory organized and maintained.
• Prepare meals when required.
