Technical Support Engineer

Role Overview

BYD Energy Storage is looking for a Technical Support Engineer to support the on-site setup and upkeep of energy storage equipment in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on keeping systems operating reliably, resolving field issues quickly, and supporting customers throughout the after-sales process.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out on-site installation, commissioning, repair work, and routine maintenance for energy storage systems.
• Respond promptly to technical problems in the field so system downtime is kept to a minimum.
• Assist customers with technical questions and provide product or equipment training when needed.
• Work with the technical support team and R&D to report field feedback and recommend product or process improvements.
• Stay actively engaged with customer after-sales needs to help improve overall satisfaction.

Required Background

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the power sector or working with high- and low-voltage systems; experience in energy storage is an advantage.
• Practical experience handling installation, commissioning, and maintenance tasks, ideally with energy storage equipment.
• Strong grasp of electrical systems, especially the operating principles behind energy storage solutions.
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving ability, including comfort working in high- and low-voltage environments.
• Strong communication and customer handling skills, with the ability to stay effective under pressure.
• Electrical or high-voltage operation certifications are preferred.
• Willingness to travel often and work flexible hours as required.
