Role overview

Clio is hiring a Software Developer to join its Engineering team in Dublin, Ireland. This position requires working from the office at least two days each week on designated Anchor Days.

What you’ll do

You will collaborate with developers to tackle challenging problems and deliver practical, high-quality solutions for Clio customers. The role involves working in an agile environment with full-stack teammates across a range of projects, exploring new technologies, and contributing to work with engineering teams across three countries. You will also review peer code and share constructive feedback across teams.

Required background and strengths

Clio is looking for experience in software development, especially building web applications at scale and working with Ruby on Rails. Front-end exposure with JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, and React is also valuable. The ideal candidate can learn new tools quickly, thrives in a changing environment with distributed teams and customers, and has experience mentoring others in an Agile setting, particularly on large-scale SaaS products.

Other useful experience includes database tuning, working with large systems, and drawing on a broad technical foundation to solve difficult engineering problems. A history of successful projects, lessons learned from unsuccessful ones, strong communication skills, and the ability to build trusted relationships with colleagues and customers are important. Interest in improving your craft through AI is also encouraged.

You do not need to match every requirement. Curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a focus on fixing root causes rather than surface-level issues are central to success in this role. Clio works with developers from Java, Python, C++, and JavaScript backgrounds and is prepared to help new hires learn Ruby.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is EUR 72,300 to EUR 97,700, with a midpoint of EUR 85,000. The company notes that salary bands vary by region and are based on the scope of skills and experience required. Experienced hires are usually placed near the midpoint, while the upper end of the range is generally reserved for sustained high performance and strong impact. Newer hires may start below the midpoint and grow into the role over time. The final offer depends on location, relevant experience, and skill set.
