Role Overview
Precision Garage Door Service is looking for a full-time Scheduler and Dispatcher to work on-site in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. This position sits within the Customer Service department and runs Monday through Friday. The role is central to daily operations, keeping jobs moving smoothly, coordinating with customers and installers, and making sure the schedule stays organized and efficient.
What the Role Involves
In this position, you will manage the flow of garage door installation work from scheduling through dispatch. The job calls for a mix of customer interaction, logistics coordination, and careful attention to timing, location, and technician availability.
- Review jobs that are ready to be scheduled and assign them to installers using factors such as region, difficulty level, availability, and delivery timing.
- Speak with customers to arrange installation appointments, explain any preparation they need to complete, and go over job details and notes.
- Maintain accurate records of customer conversations and follow up whenever additional communication is needed.
- Use ServiceTitan to create appointment windows, dispatch jobs to technicians, and send schedule confirmations by email or text message.
- Monitor delivery manifests, anticipate demand across markets, and handle out-of-area assignments to keep daily operations running efficiently.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate is organized, confident in communication, and able to manage scheduling conversations without losing control of the process. You should be comfortable balancing multiple moving parts, working with scheduling tools, and adjusting quickly when priorities change.
- Excellent organization and communication abilities
- Confidence in leading conversations and directing scheduling activity
- Comfort using scheduling software; experience with ServiceTitan is an added advantage
- Strong attention to detail, especially when working with tags, locations, skill levels, and delivery logistics
- A proactive, self-driven approach and a collaborative mindset
- Ability to prioritize effectively under pressure and adapt when needed
Preferred Background
While not mandatory, the company would especially value candidates with experience in dispatching, operations, or field service scheduling. Familiarity with garage door products, installation steps, or similar services is also a plus. Bilingual communication in English and Spanish is preferred, though not required.
