Power BI Developer

Job Summary

This role is for a seasoned Power BI Developer with 5 to 6 years of experience building enterprise-level business intelligence solutions. The position calls for deep hands-on expertise in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, SQL, BigQuery, data modeling, and row-level security. You will create dashboards and analytics tools that help leaders and teams make better decisions, with emphasis on KPI tracking, inventory analysis, and executive-level reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, enhance, and support Power BI reports and dashboards that are interactive, polished, and easy to use.
• Develop reporting solutions for KPIs, inventory insights, and executive decision-making.
• Write advanced DAX calculations and business rules.
• Use Power Query to extract, clean, transform, and prepare data.
• Design robust, scalable data models that serve reporting and analytics needs.
• Build and tune SQL queries and connect data from BigQuery along with other enterprise sources.
• Set up and maintain Row-Level Security to control access to sensitive data.
• Work with business teams to understand needs and turn them into analytical solutions.
• Track, diagnose, and improve dashboard performance and refresh reliability.
• Maintain data quality, consistency, and governance compliance.
• Handle deployment, upkeep, and improvements across development and production environments.
• Prepare documentation, train users, and provide continued support for BI solutions.

Requirements

• 5 to 6 years of experience in business intelligence or Power BI development.
• Strong practical knowledge of Power BI, DAX, Power Query, SQL, Google BigQuery, data modeling, and RLS.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise-grade dashboarding and reporting solutions.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and BI best practices.
• Experience with data integration, transformation, and performance tuning.
• Working knowledge of version control and team-based development workflows.
• Exposure to Paginated Reports in Power BI Report Builder is an advantage.
• Experience managing Power BI Service components such as workspaces, gateways, and deployment pipelines is preferred.
• Understanding of data governance, data quality, and security practices is beneficial.
• Ability to use Python or R inside Power BI for advanced analytics is a plus.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps for source control and release processes is desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Good communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholder expectations.
• Experience working on large-scale analytics and reporting platforms.
