ML Engineer (Coding Agent Experience)

About the Role

This contract role is focused on helping assess and strengthen frontier AI coding models through structured technical review. The assignment centers on practical machine learning engineering work and model evaluation, with a limited number of spots available that are being filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Responsibilities

• Work with frontier AI coding agents to solve and judge advanced machine learning and AI engineering challenges.
• Examine AI-generated code and implementations across areas such as training pipelines, inference systems, MLOps, and LLM-based products.
• Spot defects, unusual edge cases, performance bottlenecks, and other failure patterns.
• Evaluate and contrast outputs from multiple frontier models, noting where each performs well or poorly.
• Use sound engineering judgment when reviewing realistic ML engineering scenarios.

Time Commitment

This is a sprint-style engagement delivered in 12 to 24 hour blocks depending on client needs.

Ideal Candidate

• At least 2 years of professional experience in machine learning engineering.
• Background in building production ML platforms, deployment infrastructure, LLM applications, or AI-driven products.
• Frequent use of AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, or similar assistants.
• Ability to judge model-produced ML solutions and the trade-offs behind them.
• Experience shipping ML systems into production is preferred.

Compensation

The role pays $85 per hour. Accepted tasks are compensated at $400 each, and typical work takes around 2 to 3 hours after the initial ramp-up. Pay is linked to work that is accepted.
