This role is based in the Waltham, MA office and requires working onsite.

Role Overview

The Mechanical Engineer will contribute to product development from early concepts through production-ready release. The position involves hands-on design, engineering analysis, prototype evaluation, vendor coordination, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Expand your technical expertise across a wide range of mechanical engineering work.
• Partner with clients to understand needs, explore ideas, and turn concepts into product solutions.
• Develop detailed design packages and supporting documentation aligned with project goals.
• Carry out mechanical engineering analyses as needed for the project.
• Work closely with industrial design and UX teams to refine and improve product concepts.
• Coordinate with vendors for prototyping, tooling, and production support.
• Evaluate prototypes, tooling builds, and first article parts through testing and review.
• Prepare project updates and technical reports when required.
• Take ownership of project activity planning and coordination over time.

Requirements

• A BSME degree or an equivalent qualification is required; an MSME is preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in design work and engineering analysis.
• Experience bringing at least one complex electromechanical product from concept stage into production.
• Practical knowledge of designing molded, sheet metal, and machined parts.
• Strong SolidWorks skills; Creo experience is considered an advantage.
• Ability to prepare engineering documentation to ASME Y14.5 standards for release to production.
• Experience applying engineering analysis in at least two areas such as tolerance analysis, FEA, CFD, strength of materials, heat transfer, or shock and vibration.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving product development setting with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements and certification workflows.
• Hands-on skills in shop and lab environments.
• Project management experience is a plus.

Additional Information

This is a full-time onsite position. The listed compensation range is $110,000 to $120,000 per year.
