Position Overview

The Inventory Control Supervisor will oversee inventory accuracy, cycle count activities, material movements, and inventory control processes that support satellite manufacturing and warehouse operations. This role is responsible for keeping inventory data reliable, maintaining accurate ERP records, supporting readiness for production, and guiding a team of inventory staff in a busy aerospace manufacturing setting. The supervisor will work closely with Planning, Production Control, Receiving, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, and Warehouse Operations to keep materials flowing smoothly and inventory records aligned.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day inventory control work, including cycle counts, inventory audits, material transfers, and reconciliation of stock differences.
• Make sure system inventory matches physical inventory through careful transaction handling and process discipline.
• Review inventory variances, investigate root causes, and help prevent repeat issues.
• Track inventory adjustments and confirm they are properly approved and documented.
• Maintain target inventory accuracy across warehouse and production areas.
• Manage item locations and ensure materials are stored and identified correctly.
• Support replenishment of consumables and help prevent shortages.
• Carry out cycle counts and inventory audits as assigned.
• Analyze cycle count results and implement corrective actions when variances are found.
• Partner with Production Control and Manufacturing to keep materials available for scheduled production.
• Monitor movement of materials between receiving, warehouse, stockrooms, and production zones.
• Process inventory transactions promptly in ERP/MRP systems, including temperature-sensitive items.
• Lead and develop Material Handlers by setting daily work priorities and monitoring performance.
• Train employees on inventory procedures, ERP transactions, and company processes.
• Promote a culture focused on accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain KPI dashboards and monitor transaction accuracy metrics.
• Support Lean Manufacturing and ongoing improvement efforts.
• Ensure compliance with inventory control standards and aerospace quality requirements.

Qualifications

Education

• A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• A comparable mix of education and relevant operational leadership experience may also be accepted.

Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain operations, warehouse operations, manufacturing operations, or logistics.
• At least 2 years of experience leading inventory control, inventory planning, warehouse inventory, or supply chain teams.
• Solid understanding of inventory control practices, cycle counting, and warehouse operations.
• Hands-on experience using ERP/MRP systems for inventory management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in aerospace, satellite manufacturing, automotive, electronics, defense, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing environments.
• Experience managing high-value, serialized, and lot-controlled components.
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar improvement programs.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in warehouse, manufacturing, and industrial environments.
• Regular movement across warehouse floors and oversight of receiving dock operations.
• Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds.
• Periodic travel between operational sites when needed.
• Ability to handle the demands of fast-paced production and industrial settings.
