Role overview

El Faro de los libros is hiring a part-time Entry / Junior Data Analyst based in Melbourne, Victoria. This position offers a hybrid setup, so you will split your time between onsite work and working from home on selected days.

What you will do

You will support the team by gathering, tidying, and arranging data from different internal sources so it can be used for reporting and decision-making. The role also includes helping create simple dashboards and charts, checking data for accuracy, preparing recurring reports on important metrics, and handling one-off data requests. You will work with colleagues to understand what the data is showing, keep clear records of data steps and processes, and build your analysis skills under the guidance of more experienced team members.

Qualifications and background

This position suits someone with a solid analytical mindset and a basic understanding of data analysis methods. You should be comfortable using statistics for simple summaries and checks, communicating findings clearly, and documenting workflows. Some familiarity with data modelling concepts is useful, along with hands-on experience in spreadsheet tools such as Excel or Google Sheets and exposure to visualization platforms like Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools. A relevant tertiary qualification or ongoing study in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related area is expected.
