About the company
Foodstuffs North Island is a co-operative owned by its Members and home to brands such as New World, PAK’nSAVE, and Four Square. With more than 320 stores and over 27,000 people across Te Ika-a-Māui, the organisation is focused on helping New Zealanders get more from life while building a highly customer-focused and productive retail business.
About the role
The Employee Experience (EEx) Programme is a co-op-wide transformation of how people and payroll processes operate, with an emphasis on simplicity, smarter systems, and better experiences in the moments that matter. The programme is modernising tools and streamlining workflows so store teams, Distribution Centres, and the Support Centre can work more efficiently and stay focused on customers.
A new team is being formed to help deliver this programme successfully. In the Change Delivery Manager role, you will be in a practical, delivery-focused position responsible for change implementation, communications, readiness, and delivery activities. You will work closely with programme leaders and external partners to make sure change is embedded effectively in day-to-day operations and adopted by frontline and support teams.
This role sits between change management and programme delivery. You will manage actions, risks, dependencies, readiness tasks, and adoption outcomes across multiple teams, turning programme plans into practical execution and measurable operational results. This is a hands-on role for someone who prefers driving delivery rather than only designing plans.
Success will be measured through adoption outcomes, business readiness, strong programme execution, stakeholder engagement, and the move of capability into BAU operations.
This is a 24-month fixed-term opportunity.
Key responsibilities
- Help leaders guide teams through change by building capability and embedding new ways of working across different environments.
- Work across a complex, multi-site retail setting to support consistent delivery, stakeholder alignment, and large-scale adoption across stores, distribution centres, and the support centre.
- Manage end-to-end delivery work, including plans, milestones, timelines, risks, and dependencies.
- Create and deliver focused communications, engagement initiatives, and change network activities that support mobilisation and adoption across the co-op.
- Monitor readiness, adoption, and risk through data and insights, and support training, go-live, and transition into BAU operations.
About you
You are someone who enjoys getting involved and working across both people and delivery outcomes. The role suits a practical operator who can turn strategy into action and keep momentum across several workstreams.
Requirements
- Background in leading enterprise-wide change within fast-moving transformation programmes, with a focus on adoption and outcomes.
- Strong ability to engage and influence stakeholders across complex, multi-site environments, including frontline teams.
- Skill in converting strategic direction into practical delivery actions while balancing competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills that create clarity, alignment, and action across varied audiences.
- Experience using data and insights to assess readiness, adoption, and risk, and to guide delivery decisions.
- Open to applicants from diverse backgrounds and with transferable experience, even if not every requirement is met.
What we offer
- Free parking, including more than 1,000 car parks and EV charging plugs.
- On-site café with subsidised meals, a mini mart, and a 5% discount at retail stores.
- Flexible working options and a birthday day off.
- Access to internal learning and development programmes and courses, flu vaccinations, and social network groups known as Tribes.
