Operations Manager

Role Overview

Valence Surface Technologies is hiring an Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day plant operations, improve efficiency, and keep teams aligned with quality, safety, and financial goals at the West Springfield, MA site.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the resolution of operational issues so daily work can continue without disruption.
• Make sure employees follow the company Quality Management System and use it to support ongoing improvements.
• Review performance metrics across departments and help ensure the business is operating at peak efficiency.
• Own and advance the 6S program to company standards.
• Assess workforce needs and adjust staffing as needed, at the right cadence, to meet productivity targets.
• Oversee profit and loss performance and ensure every department has the metrics and processes needed to deliver financial results on a daily and weekly basis, in partnership with the site Finance leader.
• Work with Finance on monthly forecasting and annual budgeting.
• Run performance reviews and provide coaching and direction to direct reports and supervisors.
• Build and maintain a culture of continuous improvement.
• Set organizational goals and clearly communicate expectations.
• Remove operational bottlenecks, allocate people and equipment resources, and guide production teams toward business targets.
• Maintain the plant, production equipment, and related systems, and create business cases for replacement or upgrades when needed.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
• Handle additional related duties as assigned.

Experience and Education

The preferred background includes 10+ years of management experience and a bachelor’s degree or higher in Management.

Compensation and Benefits

The role offers an annual salary of $100,000 to $120,000, along with Medical, Dental, Vision, Long Term Disability, an Employee Assistance Program, 401(k) with a 3% match, and Holiday Pay.
