Role Overview
This is a part-time remote opportunity for a Junior Data Analyst at Celebration Cakes. The position is suited to entry-level talent and focuses on helping the business make better decisions through accurate, organized, and easy-to-understand data work.
What You’ll Do
You will support analysis across sales and operations data gathered from multiple bakery locations. The work includes cleaning and arranging datasets, assisting with straightforward analysis, and helping build reports and dashboards that highlight sales performance, customer behavior, and store-level trends.
You will also work with different teams to understand data needs, explain findings in simple language, and help keep reporting outputs clear and usable. In addition, the role includes maintaining data quality, responding to ad hoc analysis requests, and contributing to improvements in reporting processes.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical ability with a basic foundation in data analysis to interpret metrics and spot patterns.
- Introductory knowledge of statistics and data modeling for junior reporting and forecasting tasks.
- Good communication skills for presenting insights to people without a technical background.
- Comfort using spreadsheets and common data tools such as Excel or Google Sheets; familiarity with BI platforms like Tableau or Power BI is an added advantage.
- High attention to detail, accuracy in handling data, and solid organizational habits.
- Ability to work on your own in a remote setup and manage part-time availability consistently.
- Interest in analytics for retail, hospitality, or food service; any internship or project exposure to data work is helpful.
- Education in a quantitative area such as Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Business, or a related subject is preferred, though not mandatory.
