Role overview
NatSteel Holdings Pte Ltd is looking for an Electrical Technician to support the upkeep, troubleshooting, and improvement of machinery and equipment in a heavy-industry setting in Singapore. The role involves hands-on maintenance work, safety-focused execution, and coordination with the reporting superior on maintenance progress.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose faults and restore the operation of equipment and machines through repair work.
- Carry out both preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to keep equipment in good working order.
- Follow all applicable safety rules, workplace procedures, and regulatory requirements while performing duties.
- Complete basic minor repair work related to mechanical systems when needed.
- Support installation and commissioning activities for machinery and equipment.
- Provide maintenance progress updates to the immediate supervisor.
- Inspect site equipment and machinery, including checks related to mechanical and electrical condition.
- Handle stock control, inventory checks, and spare-parts management.
- Take on other maintenance-related assignments as directed.
Requirements
- Higher NITEC, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Electronic, or another engineering-related discipline.
- At least 2 years of maintenance experience gained in heavy industrial environments.
- Practical ability in welding and gas cutting.
- Working knowledge of PLCs and electrical components, with hands-on exposure.
- Prior involvement in machinery and equipment installation or commissioning will be an advantage.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Good understanding of safety compliance, including Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) rules, industrial safety standards, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Strong bilingual communication skills in English and Chinese, in both spoken and written forms, for daily technical reporting, document translation, and coordination with Chinese-speaking stakeholders.
- Prepared to work rotating shifts and roster-based schedules.
