Data Analytics Intern

About the role

This remote internship is with a confidential early-stage startup that is growing quickly. The role is designed for a detail-oriented person who enjoys turning data into actionable insights and working closely with founders on high-impact business decisions.

What you will do

• Gather data from different sources, prepare it for analysis, and work with both structured and unstructured datasets.
• Explore data to spot trends, patterns, and useful observations through exploratory analysis.
• Create and update dashboards and reports that help the business understand performance.
• Use SQL to pull, transform, and organize data efficiently.
• Support the definition and tracking of KPIs and core business metrics.
• Work alongside product, marketing, and business teams to support data needs.
• Turn findings into clear, practical recommendations and present them effectively.

What the role calls for

• You should currently be studying for, or have recently completed, a degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets is needed.
• Basic SQL ability is required.
• Familiarity with Python, especially Pandas and NumPy, or similar data tools is preferred.
• You should understand data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Good analytical thinking and problem-solving ability are important.

Preferred background

• Hands-on experience with real datasets or analytics projects will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of business metrics and performance monitoring is useful.
• Exposure to A/B testing or statistical methods is preferred.
• Comfort working in a startup-style, fast-moving environment is valued.
