Role Overview

This is a full-time, on-site position in Coimbatore for a Control Room Operator. The role is centered on monitoring and managing plant operations to help ensure uninterrupted and efficient power generation while following approved procedures and safety requirements. The operator will keep an eye on system performance, react to alarms, coordinate with field personnel, and record operational conditions and incidents accurately. The job also includes helping with routine checks, flagging equipment concerns, supporting start-up and shutdown tasks, and maintaining clear communication with supervisors and technical staff to keep operations safe and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Observe control room systems and manage plant activity to support stable power generation.
• Track performance indicators and respond promptly to alarms or abnormal operating conditions.
• Work with field operators and technical teams to coordinate daily plant operations.
• Maintain detailed logs of operating status, events, and important observations.
• Assist with routine inspections and report equipment faults or irregularities.
• Support plant start-up and shutdown processes as required.
• Follow standard operating methods, safety rules, and environmental guidelines at all times.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience or strong background in control room operations, including system monitoring and plant coordination.
• Understanding of plant operations and power generation workflows, with the discipline to follow procedures and safety standards.
• Knowledge of steam systems and related industrial or power plant equipment.
• Clear communication skills for effective coordination with supervisors, operators, and support teams.
• A technical diploma or engineering degree in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, or a related field is preferred.
• Prior exposure to power plants, utilities, or industrial process facilities will be an added advantage.
• Willingness to work in shifts and stay focused in high-pressure situations.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with control system interfaces and reporting tools.
