Role Overview

Haven Bay Care Centre in Ballinacubby, Kinsale, Co. Cork, Ireland is looking for a Commis Chef to support the kitchen team with food preparation and day-to-day service. The role focuses on preparing meals to recipe and production standards, helping to deliver nutritious dishes that meet resident needs, and contributing to a tidy, safe, and efficient kitchen operation.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Support the preparation of food in line with menus, recipes, and established cooking standards.
• Help maintain the quality and nutritional value of meals served to residents.
• Set up, clean, organise, and replenish your assigned workstation, including washing duties where required.
• Work with the culinary team on menu planning ideas that suit residents’ dietary needs.
• Prepare dishes promptly and accurately, paying close attention to allergies and special dietary requirements.
• Follow safe working practices, HACCP procedures, and company rules to keep the kitchen clean and hygienic.
• Carry out kitchen tasks responsibly and maintain a professional standard at all times.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a comparable kitchen role.
• Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
• A proactive attitude and a strong focus on food safety and hygiene.
• Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable taking a hands-on approach to kitchen work.
• Completion of a culinary arts programme or relevant training course.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.

Additional Information

This is a full-time onsite position based in Kinsale, Ireland. The annual remuneration is €36,605, and the working schedule is 39 hours per week. Posting date: 01.06.2026.
