Camera & Network Systems Intern (On-Site/Field Installations)

About the role

This internship is for a field-focused systems role at an enterprise AI company that works with Vision AI and Voice AI solutions for security, safety, compliance, and operational efficiency. The work centers on planning, installing, configuring, and maintaining camera and network setups across client sites.

What you'll do

• Survey locations to decide camera positions, cable paths, power access, and wireless visibility requirements.
• Install IP cameras, protective enclosures, mounting hardware, poles, brackets, and outdoor weather-resistant equipment.
• Configure networking devices such as routers, switches, PoE injectors or PoE switches, access points, and signal repeaters.
• Lay, terminate, test, and organize structured cabling, including Cat5e/Cat6, with basic familiarity with fiber and proper crimping practices.
• Handle IP setup work such as addressing, DHCP, NAT, port forwarding, VLAN configuration, and basic firewall adjustments.
• Deploy and fine-tune point-to-point and point-to-multipoint wireless connections for reliable network performance.
• Configure CCTV environments, including IP cameras, NVR/VMS platforms, ONVIF/RTSP settings, recording schedules, and remote viewing access.
• Track system health, identify connectivity issues, and resolve technical problems both onsite and remotely.
• Carry out preventive maintenance, replace faulty hardware, and help coordinate repairs or RMAs when needed.
• Prepare and update technical records such as network diagrams, IP plans, device lists, and as-built documentation.
• Work in line with safety procedures for outdoor installations, electrical handling, and tasks performed at height.

Who can apply

Applicants must be available for a full-time, in-office internship in Mumbai, be able to start between 23 June 2026 and 28 July 2026, and commit for 6 months. The role is intended for Mumbai-based candidates with relevant skills and interest, including Computer Science Engineering students. Candidates should also be open to field travel and physical site work.

Requirements

• A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, IT, Networking, or a related area is expected or already completed.
• Strong grounding in networking basics such as TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and VLANs.
• Familiarity with IP cameras, CCTV systems, NVR/DVR setups, and concepts like ONVIF and RTSP.
• Comfort with outdoor, hands-on work, including climbing, weather exposure, lifting equipment, and working at height.
• Practical ability with tools, cabling, and basic electrical tasks.
• A problem-solving mindset with confidence in diagnosing and fixing technical issues.
• Willingness to travel to different sites; having a two-wheeler or a driving licence is preferred.
• Preferred extras include basic Linux command-line knowledge, Python or Bash scripting, familiarity with CompTIA Network+ or CCNA fundamentals, understanding of wired/wireless networking and Tx/Rx alignment, and exposure to VMS or network monitoring tools.

Additional information

The stipend is structured as fixed pay of ₹10,000 to ₹12,000 per month plus incentive pay of ₹3,000 to ₹5,000 per month, bringing the total monthly range to ₹13,000 to ₹17,000. The internship has 2 openings and is strictly on-site with no remote option. Regular outdoor field visits, ladder use, work at height, lifting equipment, and travel across multiple sites are part of the role.
