Project Planner

Role Overview

A mechanical project planner is needed in Vadodara to manage planning and scheduling work for FMCG, CPG, pharma, chemical, and specialty chemical projects. The role involves building reliable schedules, tracking progress, coordinating with teams and client representatives, and keeping project timelines, quality, and reporting under control.

Key Responsibilities

• Create practical and well-structured project plans based on job requirements and project inputs.
• Use planning and control tools such as Primavera, MS Project, and related scheduling software to manage timelines effectively.
• Review schedule risks, identify delays or conflicts, and suggest workable recovery or corrective actions.
• Prepare the overall master schedule and keep it updated to show the status of all project activities and durations.
• Organize project portfolios and sequence deliveries according to normal, urgent, turnaround, or priority needs.
• Build resource plans, progress curves, and forecasts to help ensure resources are used efficiently.
• Track project progress regularly and share variance updates with the team in report form.
• Set up and maintain project reporting processes and circulate updates to stakeholders at the required frequency.
• Coordinate closely with project team members and client representatives for capital and turnaround project requirements.
• Support schedule analysis using critical path, resource-loaded scheduling, physical progress tracking, and earned value methods.

Required Experience and Skills

• 8 to 12 years of experience in project planning.
• Background in mechanical projects, especially within FMCG, CPG, pharma, chemical, or specialty chemical industries.
• Strong command over Primavera P6 and working familiarity with MS Project.
• Solid understanding of scheduling techniques such as fast-tracking, crashing, and schedule recovery.
• Ability to interpret data, anticipate outcomes, and work with estimates and forecasts.
• Comfort handling multiple assignments at once in a structured and organized way.
• Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
• Hands-on ability with MS Excel, plus report preparation in MS Word and presentations in MS PowerPoint.
• Self-driven mindset and ability to work well with a team.

Work Details

• Location: Vadodara, Gujarat, India.
• Work timing: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
• Salary: ₹1,15,000 per month.
• Incentive: Included.
• Languages preferred: English and Hindi.

Education

B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
