Packer Operator

Job Summary

As a Packer Operator, you will be responsible for running the roto packer in a safe, smooth, and efficient manner so that daily loading targets are achieved.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Check that cement bag weights stay within the required tolerance and top up the weight when needed.
• Make sure sufficient bags are available at all packing points and request additional bags from the appropriate personnel when stock runs low.
• Perform basic arithmetic needed for loading schedules and packing plans.
• Adjust loading programs manually whenever errors are detected.
• Keep close watch on the roto packer throughout the shift.
• Use compressed air to clean the roto packer during the shift and after work is completed.
• Confirm that ATC and loading slips are in place before any truck is loaded.
• Operate the roto packer in line with standard operating procedures to protect staff and maintain safety.

Education and Work Experience

• OND or an equivalent qualification in any field.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience.

Skills and Competencies

• Working knowledge of cement production processes
• Understanding of cement packing machine operations and procedures
• Practical experience with cement packing equipment
• Strong knowledge of roto packer components and their functions
• Ability to run the roto packer efficiently
• Good interpersonal and relationship management ability
