Laborer

Role Overview

Palatka Housing Authority is looking for a Laborer to help keep office buildings, rental units, and other authority-managed properties clean, orderly, and ready for use. The role focuses on preparing vacant homes for new occupancy, maintaining common areas, and supporting basic upkeep across facilities and grounds.

Key Duties

• Clean vacant rental units and prepare them for move-in within the required timeline.
• Wash and polish lighting fixtures, marble countertops, and trim.
• Maintain cleanliness in rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
• Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors as needed.
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Dust furniture and equipment, and polish metal surfaces.
• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empty wastebaskets and ashtrays, and clean ashtrays when required.
• Move trash and waste to the designated disposal area.
• Restock bathroom supplies and replace light bulbs.
• Repair fences, gates, walls, and walkways, and paint fences and outbuildings.
• Clean outdoor areas and remove litter from the grounds.
• Move small tools or equipment between departments and work sites.
• Carry out additional duties assigned by leadership.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Palatka, FL. The role involves hands-on cleaning, light maintenance, and general support work across housing authority facilities.
