About the Role

This position sits within the Medicare STARS organization, which supports Medicare Advantage product and benefit data through analytics, stewardship, strategic oversight, and production support. The team focuses on building durable solutions that improve operational efficiency where Medicare Advantage product data is needed.

As a Data Analyst II, you will support a data warehouse that receives vendor data feeds for ancillary Medicare Advantage services such as fitness and transportation benefits. You will partner with the MA Product team to understand the benefit offering, help define how vendor data should be integrated, validate incoming data, and set up operational processes to load information into the database by using SQL Server Integration Services.

After the data is integrated, you will assist with transformations for the dashboard team, become a subject matter expert on the data, handle ad hoc analysis, and support access for other analytics programs that connect to the same data. This is a business-facing role that requires both technical strength and a strong understanding of the product and member eligibility context behind the data.

You can work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. For hires based in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, on-site attendance is required at least four days per week.

What You’ll Do

  • Build reliable data solutions that follow team standards, scale with the product, and reduce rework.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and prototype new reports or project ideas.
  • Work with teammates and business partners to identify the right data sources, then create processes and documentation to bring that data into internal systems.
  • Deepen your understanding of datasets so you can collaborate effectively with stakeholders and shape practical solutions.
  • Work independently when needed while still contributing strongly in a team environment.
  • Maintain operational quality by producing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code in a shared environment.
  • Contribute to analysis, problem definition, requirements gathering, solution design, and proposed recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain code using Microsoft data tools, including SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, Snowflake, and Azure.
  • Design solutions by defining system specifications and following established standards.
  • Stay current by learning new development tools and programming practices and by taking part in learning opportunities and professional networking.
  • Track progress and provide status updates.
  • Help move project teams toward goals and reinforce or adapt design standards as needed.
  • Present ad hoc analysis and findings to senior leadership.
  • Work with external vendors to collaborate on data-related solutions.

Required Experience

  • At least 3 years of advanced-level SQL experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience with scripting or programming languages.
  • At least 3 years of experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • At least 2 years of healthcare experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences, including external vendors or senior leadership.

Preferred Experience

  • Medicare experience.
  • Background working on an agile team.
