Role Overview
This position is responsible for overseeing key administrative and site-support operations at a large manufacturing location in Jamnagar. The role covers transport coordination, gardening services, housekeeping, site infrastructure support, mail and courier handling, and liaison with statutory and local authorities.
Transport Administration
- Track and manage the overall transport setup at the site.
- Handle day-to-day operations for employee buses, employee-owned cars and two-wheelers, and privately hired taxi services.
- Keep complete records for vehicles, work orders, contractor details, and contract labour engaged in this area.
Gardening Services
- Coordinate and monitor gardening activities across the entire site in collaboration with the horticulturist.
- Maintain records, work orders, contractor lists, and contract labour details related to gardening work.
Housekeeping Support
- Oversee and coordinate housekeeping services across the full site.
- Maintain all connected documentation, including work orders, contractor records, and labour details.
Other Site Operations
- Supervise mail distribution and courier movement for the site.
- Manage and track site infrastructure requirements and coordinate arrangements as needed.
- Ensure licences and other statutory requirements are obtained, renewed, followed up, and resolved with departments and authorities such as the Factory Inspectorate, MIDC, MSEB, MPCB, ZP Office at Alibag, and the local Gram Panchayat.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with officials from all site-related government and local bodies.
- Support preparation of legal paperwork, including documents related to employee foreign travel, foreign bonds, passports, and similar requirements.
Education and Experience
A graduate in any discipline is required. A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field will be preferred. The role calls for a degree or diploma in administration along with 6 to 12 years of experience in administration functions at a large manufacturing site.
Skills and Competencies
The ideal candidate should be a strong communicator and comfortable working with computers. Practical knowledge of MS Office, presentations, SAP, and budgeting is expected.
Additional Requirements
Experience in relevant administrative areas is preferred. Candidates with postgraduate qualifications will have an advantage.
