Role Overview and Responsibilities
As a Solution Architect at SailPoint, you will undergo product training to deepen your expertise in our SaaS and software offerings. Starting within two months, you will take on the role of technical lead in customer engagements, applying your communication skills and industry knowledge to promote best practices in identity governance. Within six months, you will establish yourself as a technical and consultative authority in the Services organization, and by the end of your first year, act as a trusted advisor to customers, partners, and junior team members.
- Analyze customer business requirements and document product-aligned solutions with recommended architectures.
- Provide education to customers and partners regarding high-level system architecture, functional designs, and best practices.
- Support scoping, analysis, and documentation tasks for implementation projects.
- Create and deliver technical training to enable SailPoint implementation partners.
- Assist implementation teams with designing innovative solutions for complex problems.
- Contribute to technical solution delivery through coding or advanced configuration.
Candidate Qualifications
- 7 to 10+ years of professional experience in enterprise software companies, systems integration, or consulting, including at least 5 years hands-on experience with SailPoint, IAM, and enterprise software implementations.
- Proficient in software development, implementation, and configuration.
- Strong communication skills with extensive client and partner interaction.
- Consultative expertise in customer-facing roles.
- Knowledge and experience with XML, SPML/SOAP, web and application servers.
- Familiarity with Windows and Unix-based platforms (Linux, Sun, HP, AIX).
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, Sybase, MSSQL, MySQL.
- Exposure to NoSQL databases including MongoDB, Cassandra, and Redis.
- Understanding of directories like LDAP and Active Directory.
- Programming experience in Java, BeanShell, JavaScript, and Node.js.
- Experience with ERP or service management systems such as SAP, PeopleSoft, or ServiceNow.
- Cloud IaaS platform knowledge, e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP.
- Frontend technologies including HTML, CSS, Angular, React, and Vue.js.
Preferred Skills and Additional Experience
- Familiarity with other identity governance vendors such as Microsoft, Sun, Oracle, IBM, or Novell.
- Knowledge of AI and machine learning principles.
- Understanding of role-based access controls and least-privileged access models.
- Project management experience covering planning, resource allocation, scheduling, documentation.
- Quality assurance experience including test planning and execution.
- Background in security software or IT audit.
Education and Certifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Certifications such as J2EE or CISSP are advantageous.
- Certification as a SailPoint Certified Engineer or Solution Architect is desirable and expected within 12 months post-hire.
Other Details
- Willingness to travel up to 15% as required.
- Work location is Auckland or Wellington, New Zealand.
