Role Overview
This position is for the PingAccess Software team, where you will contribute to a mission-critical platform that secures billions of identities for large organizations. The work involves building enhancements for an enterprise identity and access protocol stack used in large-scale production environments.
The team is looking for a developer who enjoys a fast-paced agile setting, communicates well, and can convert product needs and design concepts into reliable Java code. A strong emphasis is placed on security, quality, and performance.
What You Will Do
- Serve as an important individual contributor on a high-performing agile engineering team.
- Work closely with colleagues in Vancouver and Denver.
- Review and improve requirements with the product management team.
- Create new functionality that integrates cleanly with existing product capabilities.
- Estimate and organize the work needed for assigned tasks.
- Support and maintain the current codebase while fixing reported issues.
- Partner with Software Quality Engineers to build unit and integration tests.
Requirements
- Strong command of Java development.
- Working knowledge of widely used Java open-source libraries and developer tools.
- Good understanding of HTTP and TLS.
- Experience using IDEs, Git, Jenkins, Maven, and ClaudeCode.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to learn independently and quickly, and to gather information from complex systems and features.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building front-end features with React, Redux, and JavaScript.
- Exposure to Spring, Jackson, and similar Java web libraries.
- Experience with relational databases, JDBC, SQL, and ORM tools such as Hibernate.
- Knowledge of identity management concepts and protocols such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, certificate management, and cryptography.
- Understanding of enterprise-scale secure systems and configuration patterns.
- Familiarity with asynchronous networking or Netty.
- Experience with DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
Compensation
The estimated salary range for this role in Canada is CAD 70,505 to CAD 88,131. Final pay will depend on factors such as knowledge, skills, and abilities.
