Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site Shift Supervisor position in the Greater Ottawa Metropolitan Area. The person in this role is responsible for overseeing operations during assigned shifts and making sure food quality, service speed, and cleanliness expectations are consistently maintained. The Shift Supervisor guides, encourages, and supports team members, assigns work, and offers real-time coaching to help deliver excellent guest service and maintain a positive workplace. The role also includes monitoring stock levels, coordinating between kitchen and front-of-house teams, handling cash-related tasks and basic reporting, assisting with onboarding and training, resolving guest issues, enforcing safety and food-handling procedures, and ensuring brand standards are followed throughout the shift.
Key Duties
- Supervise day-to-day restaurant activity during assigned shifts.
- Ensure standards for food quality, service speed, and cleanliness are met consistently.
- Lead and motivate team members while assigning tasks and providing on-the-spot coaching.
- Coordinate work between kitchen staff and front-of-house team members.
- Track inventory and help maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Support cash handling and prepare basic shift reports.
- Assist with training and onboarding new team members.
- Address guest concerns in a calm, professional, and solution-focused way.
- Help enforce food safety, workplace safety, and sanitation procedures.
- Maintain compliance with Chick-fil-A brand and service standards.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate has experience in food service, retail, or hospitality and has had some exposure to leading others or acting in a team lead capacity. Strong guest service skills are important, along with the ability to manage concerns calmly and professionally. The role calls for someone who can organize work effectively, stay composed in busy periods, delegate appropriately, and support a varied team in a respectful and inclusive way. Comfort with cash handling, POS systems, and shift-level reporting is helpful, though a willingness to learn is also acceptable. A working knowledge of food safety, cleanliness, and health-and-safety practices is valued. Clear verbal and written communication, reliability, and flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays are essential. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and further education or training in business, hospitality, or management would be an advantage. The position also requires the physical ability to remain on your feet for extended periods, move quickly around the restaurant, and lift or carry items as needed.

Compensation
The hourly pay range for this role is $19.00 to $22.00.
